Eighty2 was born during a telephone conversation amongst two good friends. One in Ibiza and the other one in Barcelona, they were commenting on how hard it is to find summer footwear that is elegant, comfortable and easy to combine, to wear at the beach during the day and to go out at sundown.

The two founders of Eighty2, both common users of the traditional espadrille, agreed on one thing: there is no doubt that it is a shoe with an original design. But to adapt to current trends it needed a reinvention, bearing in mind that it was created on the year 1322. Reinvention that should avoid industrial manufacture, always respecting its most important quality: to be handmade.

Eighty2 espadrilles, faithful to the traditional method, are handmade in Spain, which provides them with the quality and singularity that they have always had.

Searching for more comfort and elegance, an insole is incorporated, made in grain leather. The fabrics are all in classic prints and patterns, looking for interesting and original combinations. This designer’s edition, added to a textile process of foaming Ø that makes it breathable, turns the Eighty2 espadrille in the ideal summer shoe.

The creator’s bet is to rediscover a classic. That the espadrilles become a fashionable choice for the traditional values plus maximum quality and exclusive design of limited editions.
